REPEATER NEWS... N9KDB and WB9VPG made a trip to Indianapolis on July 30 to pick up a
new amplifier for 146.925. The near record heat has been causing problems at Paxton when the
A/C has gone out. Temperatures have been in excess of 140 degrees. As soon as the A/C is
fixes, KA9PCT will be installing the new amplifier. A bandpass cavity was misaligned at the
145.25 site by some visiting folks, resulting in nulling the signal into the receiver. Thanks to
WD8PRH and KA9PCT for their efforts in re-tuning the receiver combiner. The receiver is now
working better than ever before. The 147.43 transmitter will be changing to the 147.135
frequency, since a site has not been available in the Louisville area. The input will still be 144.55
for the time being, but will eventually be 147.735. There are NO CTCSS tones on the 145.25
system as of yet, but when it happens it will be 88.5. 145.11 has officially been declared as
missing, and work has begun to replace it with the insurance company. A new amplifier is also in
the plans for 145.15. KA9JJS has been working on 147.18 in Mt. Vernon, IL, and is making
progress toward that system being on the air.
