thank you!!!
REPEATER NEWS!!! More repairs.... The
146.925 transmitter at Paxton is at near 5 watts.
Apparently the amplifier fan quit and
overheated. Repairs are being made. Repairs
for the 145.15 exciter and amplifier are planned
for Thanksgiving weekend as well. EARS was
donated several high power, solid state UHF
repeaters recently. One of these will be placed
on 443.925 at a future time, which will bring the
power back up to full, and a new controller is
being planned as well. 145.11 has been off the
air for repairs. Thankfully these are under
warranty. The Seymour receive site has been
turned off on 145.25 due to interference, but
should be back on as you receive this
newsletter. 147.18 in Mt. Vernon, IL is well
under way. Thanks to Pete WB9DRB for his
assistance on this project (again!) Remember
to use 107.2 tone encode on the EARS
repeaters. ALL EARS REPEATERS ARE STILL
OPEN FOR USE BY ALL AMATEURS WHO
FOLLOW PROPER RULES AND OPERATING
PROCEDURES.
